| Abstract: | To generate sustainable competitive advantage through information technology , firms must build a strong information technology staff, a reusable technology base, and a partnership between information technology and business management. A two-year study of information technology management practices suggests that the quality of these assets dictates the quality of information technology planning, delivery, and support processes. This paper describes these assets and their characteristics and explains how the assets are converted into business value. |
