Abstract:From both angle of law and cost, and moral and historical angle, the Chinese government has no intention of changing Hong Kong's status as an international financial centre after 1997. The perfect function of city as a whole, the highly advanced financial industry and "China factor" attracting people's attention will sustain the consolidation and elevation of Hong Kong's status as an international financial centre. But the elevation of its status will also be restricted by many factors. Therefore, we need to take active measures in a bid to make Hong Kong's financial industry develop toward high quality.
