Abstract:Despite fears that UK indecision over EMU will threaten London's position as Europe's key financial centre, so far there is no sign of London losing its magnetism. Indecision over UK's attitude towards European economic and monetary union has upset the City markets and confused the finance sector and industry in general. Tony Blair's new Labour government, with an overwhelming majority in the House of Commons, gave early indications of being more receptive to the idea of the single currency than its Conservative predecessor.
