Abstract: | Hong Kong's return to the motherland provides present- favorable conditions for the domestic economic development, which finds expression in the following: Hong Kong will play greater role in China's foreign trade in the future. Hong Kong is the largest direct investor in the inland area and its direct investment accounts for 58% of the total foreign direct investment in the inland area. The economic development in the inland area will be promoted by taking full use of Hong Kong's status as the international financial center for the purpose of introducing foreign investment and developing the international financial business. Hong Kong will provide rich experiences for the economic development in the inland area. |
