| Abstract: | The economic situation and development opportunities for the independent Slovak Republic which came into being on 1 January 1993, were judged quite pessimistically by analysts. According to their prediction, the Slovak Republic would suffer much more from the dissolution of the Federal Republic than the Czech Republic. The study presented here wishes to contradict these estimations and show some fundamental characteristics of the economic development of the young Slovak Republic. |
