| Abstract: | The development of growth theory in the 1980s has not only emphasized innovating activities but also put forward the role of imitation and technology diffusion for economic growth and development. Therefore, the activities of multinational enterprises (MNEs) become particularly interesting since MNEs not only produce a large share of world knowledge, but foreign direct investment (FDI) also appears to be one of the major channels for international technology transfer. |
