Abstract:By now, those in the world of business must be up to here with having to view the customer as "king". The acceptance of such terms as "customer focused", "meeting or exceeding customer expectations", and the outright "the customer is king" is a tradition that has only recently been recognized in some quarters as counterproductive. Fred Steingraber, CEO of the consulting firm A. T. Kearney, has expressed his conviction that the existing supply chain is dysfunctional.
