Abstract:At present, China's large department stores are facing enormous competition pressure. After 1994, the average profit ratio of a hundred department stores falls every year. They have begun to enter the period of reession. So to improve the traditional large department stores and make innovation has become their inevitable choice. To this end, they should make structural adjustment, optimize resource allocation and improve enterprises' organization. They should also reform the mode of business and adjust the business tactics to meet market challenges. Besides, they should conduct technological innovation, strengthen enterprises' management and improve their internal mechanism.
