| Abstract: | This article deals with the impact that successful takeovers have on the rates of top management changes for U.K. target firms. It is shown in the results that hostile takeovers are associated with a greater degree of top management departure rates compared to that of friendly ones. The results give further support to the disciplining role of the hostile takeover. |
