| Abstract: | The in-depth reason for price competition in China's air conditioner industry lies in low barrier for entering air conditioner industry and high barrier for withdrawing from it. The price competition has a favourable side, that is, having started market. But it has also brought some unfavourable influence. Vicious price competition has forces enterprises to reduce their investment in other lines. Price competition is extremely unfavourable to industrial development and would exert harmful influence on reform of circulation system. Besides, it would lead to the drain of state-owned assets. Quite a number of enterprises are facing the problem of "close, stop, merge, shift" and so the government should help them to withdraw from the industry. |
