| Abstract: | This study describes the potential offered by the Dempster-Shafer theory (DST) of evidence as an improvement on traditional approaches in decision analysis. The study introduces the basic concepts of the DST of evidence, mentioning its origins and comparisons with the more traditional Bayesian theory. Also the recent developments of the theory are discussed. |
