Abstract:The causes of China's sluggish consumption market: the growth of urban and rural resident income is slowing down and the expected income has fallen; The institutional changes increase the residents' propensity to save; the structural contradiction of supply and demand impedes the realization of consumer demand; the lagging urban and rural infrastructures restrict the residents' consumer demand. Currently China has already satisfied the essential requirements for structural transformation and upgrade of consumer demand and has found some corresponding new and great consumption points, which will focus on housing, investment in human capital, the upgrading and renewal of the household appliances, cars, travelling and information technologies.
