| Abstract: | This article attempts to examine major factors affecting the entry and expansion paths of MNEs targeting the highly regulated Chinese pharmaceutical industry on the basis of the dynamic interaction between the FSAs of MNEs and CSAa of most countries. The longitudinal analysis of investment patterns of foreign subsidiaries over 1980-1996 demonstrates that Western and Asian NIEs' firms tend to follow a different entry path when facing the same market conditions due to their different FSAs and strategic settings. |
