Abstract: | Balance theoretical considerations suggest that the opening processes repeatedly recommended for promoting the innovativeness of a company (incl. increasing the potential for decentralised influence) involve specific risks (e.g. coordination problems). Without concurrent closure processes (promotion of integration) to absorb these greater risks, greater openness produces not a further increase but a drop in innovativeness). |
