| Abstract: | Leadership in orchestras is directive, although professional musicians are being led. For the sake of coordination, this style of leadership is necessary but must be also charismatic if it is to be accepted. A conductor with a charismatic directive style of leadership challenges the skill and heightens the motivation of the musicians, fostering the cooperation essential for a high-quality performance by the orchestra. |
