Abstract: | There is growing interest in business ethics, in general, and corporate social responsibility, specifically. Certainly, recent scandals (e.g., Enron, Global Crossing, Arthur Andersen) have intensified media attention on irresponsible corporate actions and have placed the decision-making integrity of America's corporate leaders on the national agenda. Regardless of the degree of media attention and public scrutiny, however, corporate social responsibility is, at its core, about the simultaneously contested and consensual nature of the relationship between organizations and culture(s). |
