Abstract:The success of knowledge management practices has been shown to have influence on organizational culture. It is specified in Hofstede's theory that organizational culture is not independent of national culture. A case study was conducted of an international subsidiary to explore the extent to which knowledge sharing is dependent on national culture. It is indicated in the results that language differences can create knowledge blocks, and cross-cultural differences can explain the direction of knowledge flows.
