Abstract:The recent failures and scandals involving many large businesses have highlighted the importance of corporate social responsibility (or CSR) as a fundamental factor in the soundness of the free market system. This paper explores whether there is a relationship btw. an individual's degree of religiousness (henceforth as: relig.) and his or her CSR orientation. The results of a survey of 473 business students found a significant relationship btw. degree of relig. and attitudes toward the economic and ethical components of CSR.
