Abstract: | This paper focuses on analysis of the environment as a basic tool for stakeholder management, viewing it as a process of social knowledge management (here as: KM). Then, in the light of the KM field, it analyzes which organisational decisions favour a greater corporate effort to analyse the stakeholder environment. The evidence provided by an empirical study carried out in an international context leads to the conclusion that two important structural changes are needed in organisations: first, the presence of a manager or committee responsible for social matters, and second, the commitment of every organisational level in the process of analysing the stakeholder environment. |
