Abstract:The paper examines the reputation of large businesses in the light of corporate failures. The authors state that stakeholders require far more reassurance over the twin pillars on which corporate health rests: a company's financial performance and its corporate governance procedures. All information must be clearly communicated and a sense of openness and trenparency generated. Research has been an essential tool for auditors, regulators and others seeking insight on these issues.
