Abstract: | This article studies whether public accounting mentoring relationships conform to the classical Greco-Roman model, where mentors guide and release their students, or a more modern model, where the mentoring continues indefinitely and serves as a mechanism for organizational control. The results suggest that mentoring is used more as an organizational control mechanism. |
