Abstract: | The global knowledge economy has set the focus on the regional aspects of economic growth, shifting development perspectives from output to input factors. The "Region's intellectual capital benchmarking system" (RICBS) is a strategic assessment methodology designed to better understand how firms, universities and government institutions deploy their core resources, competencies and interactions. It is found i.e. that building a region's innovative capacity demands an integrated and comprehensive framework to understand its underpinnings at all (micro, meso and macro) levels. |
