| Abstract: | This paper deals with the role of the spouses of expatriates as a major component for success of international assignments. Their commitment, cooperation and contribution to the emotional, physical and mental well-being of the expats facilitate the successful completion of corporate missions across cultural and national borders. It requires a strategic international human resource management to help the spouses to be a positive influence. The paper answers questions about how traditional global players in Germany deal with these issues. The results show a dark picture of the IHRM in these German corporations. |
