Abstract: | This study's aim is to address how board-CEO relationships (hereafter as: brd-CEO-r-ships.), as to power balance and social ties, contribute to the performance of new product (as: n-p.) introduction. A contingency view is proposed to highlight the context-dependent nature of the governance arrangements. Based on survey and archival data of a sample of 198 industrial firms in Taiwan, it is among others found that the 2 distinct types of brd-CEO-r-ships. relate curvilinearly to the performance of n-p. introduction. |
