| Abstract: | In the year 2005, European union introduced a major "relaunch" of its Lisbon strategy including objectives for economic, employment and social development. The concept of stronger prioritisation was an essential part of that strategy. However, there was a growing concern that the emphasized prioritisation aspect would lead to downgrading the social objectives stated in the original strategy. This article discusses whether a significant shift did occur in policy emphasis because of the reformation of the Lisbon strategy. In addition, the study examines the effectiveness of new strategy with respect to employment, the quality of work, and social inclusion. |
