Abstract:This introduction presents this Special issue on neuroeconomics. Neuroeconomics is a relatively new field within neuroscience, focusing on individual decision making and aiming to systematically classify and to map the brain activity correlating with decision-making related to economic choices. Neuroeconomic studies rely heavily on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) measuring the haemodynamic response related to neural activity in the brain.
