Abstract:This article aims to examine authenticity and management metaconversations. The authors get acquainted with the existing literature and theory of authenticity and metaconversations, then conduct a single case study of a Danish IT company whose manager fails to translate the conversations inside the organization. The findings of the observations and analysis suggest that metaconversations are processes that can also be created from bottom-up. The practical implications include the notion that managers and their staff can reflect whether their metaconversations are authentic or not (whether everyone has a chance to participate).
