| Abstract: | An intellectual mapping of Management Information Systems based on citation patterns in published Management Information Systems research is attempted to develop. It is essentially historical perspective. A benchmark is sought to be established, that may be used in future research to investigate changes in the Management Information Systems field as a whole, and both the emergence of new research areas as well as the decline of current areas of research is tried to be documented. Suggestions for developing a better link between Management Information System and organizational theory are presented. |
