| Abstract: | The usage of management tools in Korea is surveyed that is of special interest from the viewpoint of newly industrializing countries. The data were collected from 73 laboratories of Korean private companies. Information is given on the general character of R and D laboratories in the country,their planning horizons,the range of activities covered,management techniques,evaluation criteria,budgeting methods and renumeration practices. The overall construction is that increasing use is being made of formal method but that Korean management is still in a relatively unsophisticated state. |
