Abstract: | Studying bankruptcy, deficiency and organizational pathology are fields, suffering from a severe shortage in research matters, although repercussions from such research work are obvious. An enlarged knowledge of bankruptcy problems would help managers to detect pre-bankruptcy situation and take necessary measures to assure their firms' recovery. To estimate the role of ruling owners in bankruptcy a research has been carried out in a sample of hundred bankrupt owner-managers of the Saguenay-Lac-St.Jean area /Quebec/. Among the common features of owner managers of the failed firms the study underlines the inability to build the firm's activity on a long-term basis, inefficient organizational and management style. |
