| Abstract: | The reason for stagnating profitability is the tendency to declining batch sizes and growing number of component parts. Generally, one says that productivity is inversely related to flexibility and vice versa. Using a specific company manufacturing system with all its different production techniques and machines as a starting point, a method is offered that enables measuring and assessing the changes resulting in productivity and flexibility when CIM technologies are introduced. |
