Abstract:The importance of multinational negotiations in GATT is discussed. New development trends in the trade policy of the developing countries are outlined. A definition is presented for concessions and the types of existing concessions are analyzed. The significance of concessions in the GATT trading system is highlighted. Information is provided on the extent of tariff concessions granted by major trading nations. The role of GSP in trade between developed and developing countries is outlined. The questions concerning the extension of concessions in multilateral trade negotiations are discussed.
