Abstract:The Pacific Rim comprises a large number of countries united by their access to the Pacific Ocean. Economically the US and Japan dominate the region. Governments and business corporations recognize this area as a major world trading bloc. An extraordinary diversity of culture, ethnic origin, political systems and social development can be seen as an unavoidable challenge for corporate marketing strategy. The countries involved are identified and the potential for closer political and economic ties in the area are examined. Six reasons for growth are enumerated, but examples of barriers of it are also mentioned.
