| Abstract: | Some new ways of development of banking applications software are mentioned. Software suppliers. Bank-vendor agreements to develop new systems: their scope and content. Some of the earlier jointly developed banking software systems did not work out as promised. One of the more notable failures is analyzed in detail. The lessons are summarized. Some banking expertise is necessary to develop a workable system. Cases of successful cooperation give new opportunities for software vendors to get into the international banking market. Differences between the international and the domestic market are described. Some examples are mentioned. The effects of banking mergers on software development are discussed. |
