| Abstract: | The development of business administration in Japan from Edo period until the end of the Second World War is described. A comprehensive theory of the firm after the Second World Was is unfolded and analyzed is the impact of the American management literature and of German research in business administration on the development in Japan. The influence of Marxist doctrines on the teaching of business administration as well as on the institutions representing business administration teachers in Japan is described. |
