Abstract: | The role of change agents bringing about the conditions necessary for a change in overall corporate culture is studied. It is emphasized that the best time to make a change is at a time of deep distress. The change agent must be able to recognize and define a process (not just the "end state" or "product"). He must be able to understand how to improve a process and develop an ability to communicate the essence of a process. Finally, he must understand the problems of people who must work in a process. Arguments are provided that the most desirable way to describe the best means of doing things can only be determined by those who must follow the practices and procedures. A number of practical tools, charts and other devices are offered for the use of a change agent. |
