Abstract:Any writing process is complicated by the fact that each form of writing has its own set of rules regarding organization, format, and content. User documentation has traditionally focused on the areas in which the user interacts directly with the system. Emphasis today is shifting toward assigning trusteeship of the system to the user. With this shift, it becomes necessary for users to understand the whole system, not just the parts with which they interact. Documentation in this environment is required to communicate business concepts as well as system facts.
