Abstract: | Simple linear combinations of forecasts have generally been found to be more reliable than the individual forecasts. Recent studies have improved the method by deriving combined forecasts by multiple regressions. The present study uses macroeconomic data and well-known macroeconomic models to compare combined forecasts obtained by multiple regressions with those derived by Bayesian methodology. The authors find that the latter is more accurate than the former. |
