Abstract:From imminent closure Sheffield Forgemaster has executed a forceful recovery. Order has been born out of organizational chaos and new business out of bureaucracy. The first and most critical stage was decentralization and the creation of a more reliable organization. The aim was to create an environment where small teams could associate. The group was split into 10 autonomous companies, which fell into three divisions. The three divisional directors act as lead managers. The financial reporting system has been completely changed. Quality and service have also been improved. All of this has made possible to widen the group's customer base.
