Abstract:Based on 400 interviews held in Japan with the participation of top managers some emerging new trends in consumer demand are identified and analyzed. The formation of the structure of five different markets is predicted and examined: 1. the lifestyle markets that value old things with quality; 2. the "healthy and happy" market; 3. the "recreated lifestyles" market helping secured and enriched "second life"; 4. leisure-, travel-, hobby- and sports-related "life enrichment" market; 5. "smart and sophisticated living" market helping to make pleasant living environment. The predicted changes for the nineties are grouped and analyzed according their quantitative and/or qualitative nature.
