Abstract:Wrongful termination litigation is becoming increasingly fertile ground for damages awarded to former employees for mental distress and continuing mental impairment. These damages may include medical expenses and psychiatric or psychological treatment. A large portion of any damages awarded to the plainttiff undoubtedly will be for pain and suffering. The effects of wrongful termination on an individual are vital to the case. Numerous factors play a role in an employee's response to job loss.
