Abstract:Two firms, Vidtron (formerly Drive-In- Movies) in Texas and Associated Video Hut in Albany realize new conceptions in franchising enabling customers to select videos of hit titles without leaving their cars. Vidtron accounts with an annual income of $40,000-60,000 per store depending on location. They rent 40 hit titles at $2.49 per tape. Associated Video Hut's kiosks offer the top 30 titles at $3 per tape and the firm has sold 129 franchises, six being in operation.
