Abstract:Before getting final launch clearance, PanAmSat had to win "coordination" with the Intelsat system, in which Intelsat confirmed that the PanAmSat system wouldn't hurt the interests of the consortium's satellites in any way. The satellite, built by RCA, carries 13 transponders in addition to its 5 C-band ones which provide regional services between the U.S. and Latin America. One transponder is said to have been sold for $ 5.2 million.
