Abstract:The hero's quest has always been a metaphor for a journey of self- discovery. In facing up to his shadow rather than running from it, the hero releases his creative potential. The aim of the author is to encourage the reader to use this metaphor as a means of searching out his/her own creative energies. The paper spells out the key elements of the hero story and links them with Jungian therapy. Finally some ways are outlined to help individuals in solving organisational problems.
