Abstract: | The core problems of a computer-integrated manufacturing system are discussed. The new technologies supporting the manufacturing and other company processes are reviewed. Some possible tracks of integration are considered: integration of design, production planning, production control, manufacturing, quality assurance. The human factor is found to be neglected in the CIM-development projects. A new way of project development is suggested which is based on the concept of human integrated manufacturing. This involves new forms of work organization with teams, autonomous groups, reduced hierarchical links, increased competence and responsibility in them. |
