| Abstract: | The paper tries to estimate the household saving functions based on cross-section data, containing useful information on individual observations. The paper also attempts to test various theories of savings behavior like life- cycle hypotheses, or permanent income hypothesis, etc. Special emphasize is given to the influence of several household characteristics not examined earlier. |
