| Abstract: | Employee pay satisfaction can be a more important facet of job satisfaction to many employees than satisfaction with other facets. Given such behavioral consequences associated with pay satisfaction/dissatisfaction, theoretical models have been developed to understand the determinants of employee pay level satisfaction. A common variable across these models is pay referents, the perceived pay of comparison others. The purpose of this study is to further investigate the contribution of pay referents for explaining employee pay level satisfaction. |
