| Abstract: | Now China is actively seeking for rejoining GATT as early as possible. But one of the important preconditions is that China must cut, by a large margin, its import tariff rate which averages as high as 30-40% and help bring about the single RMB exchange rate and realize free convertible of the RMB as soon as possible. The changes of tariffs and exchange rates will exert great influence on China's Production. So an analysis of the influence and its extent will have some realistic significance to formulating trade policies. |
