| Abstract: | The role of patent and other laws that protect intellectual property in both the domestic and global marketplace is increasingly intertwined with corporate competitiveness. Intellectual property assets, though they are intangible, affect both the book value of a company and its unique position in the domestic and international arena. The authors discuss characteristics of intellectual property and suggest strategies for using these assets defensively and offensively. |
