| Abstract: | The idea that we should live in daily dread of losing our jobs has passed into urban legend over recent years. Yet, for most people, the evidence fails to support the fear. Learned seminars are run about the problems of motivating an insecure workforce. Are insecure workers less loyal and productive? Do they encourage a climate of low morale which inevitably spreads around the organisation? Then there is the upward spread of insecurity. No one, it appears , is immune. |
